Your Esthetician will greet you at the door and escort you to your treatment room. The entrance at Studio 919 stays locked for safety reasons. Your service provider will let you in when you get there.
They will then have you fill out a health questionnaire if you haven’t done this already online. This is an important step and will assist in giving you the best experience possible with the perfect products for your individual skin. It is great if you are able to do this online ahead of time. Your forms will be accessible from the appointment scheduling system.
We will then provide a complimentary 15-minute skin consultation to decide which of our services will work best for you. Your Esthetician will then give you a spa wrap to cover up and exit the room so you can remove as much clothing as you are comfortable with. The massage portion of your facial will need access to your neck and shoulder area, so if you want to leave your bra on, just pull the straps down. You definitely don’t want to miss this part!
Most importantly…RELAX! This is going to be a stress free experience that will let you unwind, enjoy it to the fullest!

BEFORE:
+Make sure hair is at least 1/4” long or longer on body waxing so the wax can better grip the hair.
+For less pain consider booking between menstrual cycles and taking an ibuprofen(if this is a medication you can take) an hour before your appointment.
+Exfoliate 24-48 hours before to remove dead skin, not the day of your appointment. This can help make waxing less painful, better hair removal, prevent ingrown hairs, less irritation, or acne.
+Come with clean dry skin on wax day. You can moisture up to the day before.
+Avoid sun exposure for 24-48 hours. This can make skin more irritated and if you have sunburn we will not be able to provide you services that day.
AFTER:
+Don't wear tight or non-breathing clothes to avoid infection: waxed skin needs air.
+Avoid perfumed or fragrance products on the waxed skin.
+Avoid touching the waxed skin: the empty follicles are easily infected by bacteria and need some time to settle down and close.
+No oil-based or tanning products.
+No exfoliating for 48 hours after waxing.
+No heavy exercising or sweating for 48 hours. This includes sexual activity.
+No beach or pool time for 48 hours.
+No excessive sun exposure for 48 hours.

Hydrate to maintain that glow!
No makeup for 24 hours.
No exercising or steam/sauna room time for 24 hours. Sweating can irritate freshly exfoliated skin.
No waxing, shaving, or laser hair removal within 24-48 hours. This can damage the skin.
Do not touch your face. This includes and picking or squeezing. This can lead to the spread of bacteria and possible scarring or hyperpigmentation(dark spots).
No Retinol products for a week after your facial. Instead, focus on hydrating and nourishing your skin to protect its natural barrier.
Do not spend time in the sun without the proper SPF. Always wear SPF no matter the weather, skin tone or amount of sun exposure! This is especially true after skincare treatments. Your skin is more susceptible to burning and other forms of skin damage. This all leads to fine lines and wrinkles, possible melanoma and other skin cancers, or hyperpigmentation(dark spots) of the skin.
Exfoliate weekly. Gentle exfoliation will keep your skin smooth and soft as well as prevent oil and dead skin build up that dulls your complexion. Do wait 2-3 days after your facial before exfoliating again!
Follow your Estheticians advice. A good home care routine with quality products and consistency will always help you reach your skincare goals. Your Esthetician will work with you to customize a skincare routine that meets your specific skin type and needs.
Most importantly… Book your next appointment. Combining in-spa treatments with a good home care routine will set you up for skin glowing success every time! We recommend booking facial appointments every 4-6 weeks to maximize the skins natural cell turnover cycle. At minimum, quarterly to maintain skin health and address unique skin needs that go along with seasonal changes.
